I recently worked with Karen Storey on a surrealist concept of hers as a technical exercise in shooting plates for compositing in post production, which was done by retoucher and CGI artist Kieran Clancy. Separate exposures were taken of our model on location, propped up above the ground, of the tree for background separation and of a cricket lawn under matching lighting conditions, which were then joined together to make the final shot.
